At Emerson we add elderberry syrup to just about everything, especially during cold and flu season. While it’s also easy to add it to seltzer, tea or even as an ice cream topping for the kids, we love incorporating it into our daily smoothie routine.
Here’s a recipe for a smoothie favorite with the added immune boosting benefits of elderberry.
- ½ cup frozen berries of your choice. We like a mixed berry blend of blueberry, raspberry and strawberry
- ½ cup almond milk
- ½ cup ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter or other nut butter
- 1-2 tablespoons elderberry syrup
- Optional – 1 medium banana
Place all ingredients into a blender. Puree until smooth.
