Inflammation can contribute to chronic disease, including cardiovascular disease and cancer. With these diseases being monitored by many biomarkers of inflammation, one overall approach to reducing the risk of inflammation and associated chronic disease is to consume foods rich in anti-inflammatory, flavonoid rich compounds. Cocoa is an example of one of these flavonoid rich foods.
