2016 Grant Recipient: The Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians
The Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians (ILANP) has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Emerson Ecologics 2016 Grant Program. The grant is to support the association in their efforts to obtain licensure for qualified naturopathic doctors and to create full access to safe and comprehensive naturopathic healthcare for the residents of Illinois.
“We greatly appreciate Emerson Ecologics’ support of our legislative work with this generous grant,” said Kristina Conner, ND, MSOM, ILANP President. “Currently, we are at a critical point in our licensure effort. This grant will accelerate our efforts forward and help us cross the finish line of successful legislation.”
The ILANP is the professional trade association of Illinois naturopathic doctors, which strives to provide patients access to safe, effective holistic healthcare. The central project of the association is to pass regulations for the practice of naturopathic medicine. The association has led a sustained effort with steady progress towards achieving this goal. During this current legislative cycle, HB-3508 and SB-1601 were both introduced to license naturopathic physicians in Illinois. Eliot Edwards, ND, ILANP Vice President and Chair of the Legislative committee notes, “We have made great inroads with the many of the members of the Illinois General Assembly. Once the Legislators understand the depth of education Naturopathic Doctors receive, they support licensing the profession.”
Congratulations to ILANP, we look forward to sharing updates on their progress throughout the year!
